Malaysia is a very beautiful and peaceful country that has many different backgrounds from races, cultures and religions. We all leave with harmony as everyone respect and try to understand each other that made Malaysia as an example for all countries in the world. No matter what issues had been brought up to our attention nowadays that might offend some people, yet every Malaysian citizens still try to tight our relation to each other even though we all have different views.

Weall know that Malaysia is a democratic country as every citizen has the right to choose the person that will govern us from the district level until the highest level to present us in the parliament. But do our Malaysia is a solely democratic country? Americans can choose their own president but can we choose our own prime minister? We all always hear that our country’s neighbour, Singapore is a democratic country but are they? Pardon me for my personal views my fellow Singaporeans but I randomly heard about any opposition party in your country that as they always been denied to speak up their voices by the authority. Relating back to our Malaysia, we are a democratic country but provided with a constitution that somehow not being agreed by some people.

Frommy personal point of view, I stress that it is good feelings to see all races in Malaysia live happily together but there are certain things that I personally think it is unfair. In education, we all know that it is quite hard to get a place for higher institution like public colleges and public universities as we all need to have an excellent result to get entered. Talk about scholarships, it is fortunate for us to receive one but should those from rich families receive it? What about those from poor families? They are more deserved to be granted scholarship as those rich families can bear the expenses on their own.

Thencome in the quota. All people have the right to enter those public universities without any restrictions but as quota policy encourage and reserved more than half percent for Malays and Bumiputera, from my personal views, it seems unfair as Malaysia is known as democratic country. For example, my non-Malays or Bumi friend got 9A’s for his SPM. He had applied for public universities but he did not get any replies from those universities and at last he entered one of private university in Sunway. But one of my Malay friend only got 2A’s in SPM but yet he got offer from a public university.

Forthe conclusion, some people are taking advantage from those benefits that being reserved. I stress again that these are only my personal view to create awareness among us. We must appreciate and work hard as we could for what we had been granted to prove that we are capable to survive in this multi racial country.
